Community Events Manager
 
Job Description:

Manages all  activities in the Community Events Department; works with covenanted communities, committees, staff, hotel personnel, registrants, and vendors for each event; responsible for site selection and negotiation; on-site logistics; scheduling and planning on-site activities; negotiation and contracting of speakers and  workshops; oversees the registration process of all events; event budget planning; implementation and management; directing volunteer activities; scheduling and correlating mailings; oversee design and production of all promotional, marketing and public relations material related to Community Events; track income and expenses for each event; handle all departmental requests; and duties as assigned.

Educational Requirement:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

Experience and skills:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of successful event planning
  • Successfully completed Science of Mind Foundation class
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and oral/written communication
  • Strong strategic, program creation, and implementation skills
  • Effective managerial and team building skills
  • Accounting and budgeting experience at the managerial level
  • Excellent work ethic and positive attitude
  • Strong preference for Science of Mind Practitioner
  • Has own rigorous daily practice and evidences compassion and service as personal ideals
  • Embraces Global Heart Vision and New Organizational Design model
  • Active member of a Religious Science or New Thought Community

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consults with other Departments in developing courses of action for reaching objectives
  • Develops, recommends and tracks budgets for carrying out objectives
  • Develops and maintains procedures for all phases of all UCRS events and gatherings
  • Solicits and approves work of other departments relating to all UCRS events and gatherings
  • Coordinates and supplies all logistics and support services, in-house and outside
  • Establishes position descriptions for event office staff
  • Selects employees to carry out objectives, as directed by functions necessary
  • Liaise with planning committees for all UCRS sanctioned events and gatherings
  • Provides and supervises policy, procedure and budgetary guidelines for all UCRS event and gathering planning committees
  • Researches and reports to committees regarding future events and gathering sites as to availability, accessibility, and economic impact of cities and sites
  • Coordinates development and use of brochures and publicity for all UCRS events and gatherings
  • Develops special projects as may relate to events and gatherings
  • Coordinates development of forms and tools for use in all phases
  • Maintains high level of customer service
  • Recommends policy for carrying out objectives
