Job Description:
To provide vision, consciousness, leadership and management, and to have overall accountability and responsibility for the ecclesiastical services and matters of the organization. The duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversight and management of Growth and Ministries, Education, Holmes Institute, International Youth and Family Ministries, World Ministry of Prayer, and all Ecclesiastical Cores.
-General ecclesiastical oversight of and support for ecclesiastical
consistency in all areas of UCRS ministry and program
-Working in collaborative leadership with the Community Spiritual Leader and senior leadership within UCRS
-Liaison with all other ministries and special programs that are created by or covenanted with UCRS
- Adherence to and support of the ethical codes, standards and practices of the organization.Educational Requirement:
- Ordained Minister of the United Church of Religious Science
- Bachelor's Degree
Desirable Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- 7 - 10 years managing a large non-profit organization or ministry
- Peacemaking and mediation training and experience
Experience and skills:
- 5 – 7 years managing a ministry or non-profit organization
- Excellent interpersonal skills and oral/written communication
- Strong strategic, program development and implementation skills
- Skilled in visioning and vision-driven leadership
- Effective managerial and team building skills -- including personnel management and staff development
- Experience in systems evaluation and measurements
- Demonstrated ability in process improvement
- Excellent work ethic and positive attitude
- Personal history of behavior in alignment with the ethics, standards and practices of our community
- Has own rigorous daily spiritual practice and evidences compassion and service as personal ideals
- Embraces the Global Heart Vision and Organizational Design Model
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in collaborative leadership with other Core Coordinators and Community Spiritual Leader
- Serve as a member of the CORE Council
- Provide leadership to and accountability for the staff, goals and activities of Growth and Ministries, Education, Holmes Institute, International Youth and Family Ministries, Covenanted Member Relations and Services, World Ministry of Prayer, International Core, Practitioner Core, and ERs.
- Create and nurture leadership teams among these departments and between these departments and the rest of the organization
- Work with the Community Spiritual Leader and other Core Coordinators to establish the Global Heart culture and Organizational Model at Home Office
- Provide leadership to and accountability for all programs and activities that support and care for the Covenanted Members, including:
- the creation and facilitation of systems of support among Covenanted Members and between Covenanted Members and home Office staff and departments
- in conjunction with the Community Spiritual Leader, appoint the
Ecclesiastical Representatives- provide leadership to and accountability for the Ecclesiastical Representatives, working with the Community Spiritual Leader and other leaders as necessary in the coordination of the ERs’ services and activities, including mediation and peacemaking services and Professional Standards activities
- support of new works and communities in transition
- establishment of the Global Heart culture throughout the UCRS community
- Provide leadership to and accountability for the Education Council, Holmes Institute Dean’s Council, IYFM Core, Global Core and other Cores of the gifted and talented as appropriate
- Provide oversight to Education and Licensing records and processes
- Liaison with all other ministries and special programs that are created by or covenanted with UCRS
- Create and present strategic and operational plans for all areas of responsibility
- Provide incremental reports to the CORE Council and the community as required
- Provide conscious leadership for all fiscal responsibilities including revenue, expenses and budgets
- Attend all organizational conferences, including The Gathering, Asilomar, Eastern Conference and others, as appropriate
- Other areas of work or responsibility as mutually agreed upon
