THE SACRED BODY HEALING CENTER

We are pleased to announce that The Sacred Body Healing Center will be returning to this year’s Asilomar Conference.  Similar to the Prayer Room being open and available to attendees for prayer, The Sacred Body Healing Room will be open and available all day for relaxation, physical healing and comfort.

As in past years, the Sacred Body Center will be available most of every day and evening, staffed with healers and body workers to provide physical support and comfort to whoever needs it.

We are currently recruiting licensed healers and body-workers of all modalities that are willing to be of service in this room starting on Monday August 4th and ending on Friday August 8th, 2008.  You can serve for several hours, a day or a couple of days – depending on your schedule and availability. This year we will be in Triton so there will be 4 tables. Please let me know your intention to work so I can be sure all who want to participate will get a chance.

If you are not already attending the Asilomar conference, you will be provided with a one day pass on the day you are working in the Sacred Body Center, which will allow you to attend any of the workshops or activities during the entire day.  You may also purchase meal tickets from the Asilomar office if you wish to dine with the group. Lodging is not included in the day pass.

Our Sacred Body Healing Center workers may have a container to accept “Love Offerings” for their wonderful service. Last year the people who enjoyed our services were quite generous. Each worker must bring their own linens & supplies - including a container for their love offerings. We should have enough tables for all to share but if you live close and would like to bring a table please let me know.

We are seeking healers and body workers who can provide the following services:

  • Reiki
  • Chair Massage
  • Craniosacral Therapy
  • Shiatsu
  • Reflexology
  • Acupressure
  • Other energetic healing modalities

If you will be attending Asilomar or live in the general area and are willing to work in the Sacred Body Healing Room, please send an email to Sheila@StarLightTraining.com who is coordinating all of our healers.  The deadline for submitting your statement of interest is July 18, 2008.    Please include the following information:

  • Your Name
  • Church Affiliation
  • Modality of Healing
  • Contact Information
  • 2 References
  • Days and/or times you can be available
  • Copies of your License, Certificates & Insurance
  • Peace and Blessings,

YOGA

Dr. Mark

Many people think that yoga is just stretching. But while stretching is certainly involved, yoga is really about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. The poses can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement, or more slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of the pose. The poses are a constant, but the approach to them varies depending on the tradition in which the teacher has trained.

Dr. Mark Vierra will be facilitating Yoga Monday-Friday mornings from 7:00-8:00 am and afternoons from 3:45-4:45 pm (not on Wednesday afternoon). Morning class is for everyone at all levels and the afternoon class is more advanced, a bit more rigorous.
